This manual is made with Webseed Studio 1.04. The interface described is the one used at the present time. Bear in mind that it could change in some ways at any point in the development.

Import

Webseed Studio 3D imports Vrml 97/2.0 format. Most of DCC and CAD softwares export Vrml 2.
Vrml is a standard format but each export engine uses a specific syntax. That why you can have problems when you import from a non tested software by ViewLife Team. If you encounter import problems with your .WRL file please contact : Support@viewlife.com

Webseed Studio 3D reads 3D objects with Diffuse texture and UV Coordinates. Names on objects are preserved.
Webseed Studio 3D reads Cameras. Webseed Studio autogenerate a default camera called "DefaultCamera".
Webseed Studio 3D reads keyframe animations (Timer in Vrml)
Webseed Studio 3D can import hierarchy with dummies (null, proxy...)

| ! | Vrml format can only save Blinn material with simple texture in Diffuse channel.
Webseed Studio 3D only supports JPEG, GIF and PNG (8 and 24 bits)

| ! | Keep in mind that realtime engines need square maps with N exp2 size (8, 16, 32 64, 128, 256, 512...)
You can combine them, for example you can have a 128 x 512 image.
There are exceptions :
On an environment map, width and height must be equal
The alpha map must have the same dimensions as the diffuse map (if you use one)

World Window

The World window is a hierarchic tree for 3D objects.
Each kind of object has a specific icon

This icon represents 3D objects
One click on the 3D icon locks the object. In that case, the object is cannot be selected in 3D view
This icon represents materials. Materials are under 3D objects in the tree hierarchy.
This icon represents cameras. On click, the 3D view gives you the point of view of the camera.
This icon represents timers. A timer is an animation on an object.
Each 3D object has an eye icon next to it. it is used to hide the object.

Selection Window

Select all the objects in 3D view
Deselect all the objects in 3D view

Navigation Window

Navigation depends on the scene scale. Open up the NAVIGATION panel; Adjust Zoom value, Pan value, and Rotation value according to their behavior in the view.
The default setting makes the values change 5 by 5. To change to 1 by 1, use Shift+Slide. To change to 10 by 10, use
Ctrl+Slide.
It should be noted that mouse navigation works as follows: Rotation, Left Mouse Button; Zoom Right Mouse Button; Pan Left+Right Mouse Button.

Cameras Window

The camera dialogue box allows to display the name of the selected camera and the zoom limitation.
Name : displays name of active camera
Zoom In :

Zoom in on the objects in the scene (right button) and click SET to record the position. The value is recorded and the SET button changes to grey.
Delete the recorded zoom in value

Zoom Out :

Zoom out on the objects in the scene (right button) and click SET to record the position. The value is recorded and the SET button changes to grey.
Delete the recorded zoom out value

MATERIALS
Shaders Window
Webseed allows you to create, to modify, and to edit the materials of your realtime 3D objects in the OpenGl view.

The Webseed materials are made of a shader which holds the parametre of brightness (specular) and the proper colors of the objects, and the channels of diffuse textures, environment (spheric), alpha, and bump (coming soon).

Materials Window

In the Material box, each line shows a material. The lines of visualization show in order Diffuse, Environment, Bump, and Alpha in this order.

If you click on a material, a red net indicates you that it is the actual work material; the dialogue boxes of the textures will update.

The button "Select" selects in the 3D all the objects that carry that specific material.
The button "New" creates a new default material.
The button "Save" saves the actual material in a .matseed folder
The button "Load" loads a .matseed file
The button duplicate" creates a copy of the actual material.
The buton "Assign" applies the current material onto the selected objects.

Diffuse map Window

Enable : Chek the button tio access to the Diffuse Map functionalities.
When uncheked, sub window appears in grey and Diffuse map disappears in 3D objects.
Image button : Click on the button to browse your image folder.
Opacity slider : changes the Diffuse map opacity on 3D objects
